Types of Network

 

     As we all know that we are connected to each and every one by a Global network 

     through which we gather and share Information but Network too have their Types

     and Category through which they can share their Information.

     Let us see what are the Types of Network available.

 

    1. LAN: Local Area network

                                                               

         It is  a network which spans a larger number of computers and other 

         peripherals within a radius of less than 1km.This type of network

         is usually preffered by Schools, Offices, Home etc.

    2 . MAN: Metropolitan Area Network

                                                         

 

         This Network consists of two or more Local area network or campus area 

         network that usually spans city or town.

    3.  WAN: Wide  Area Network :

                                                         

           It is the network that interconnects a  large number of computers in a

         wide geographical which usually spans different countries such as

         Internet. In WAN telephone lines , microwave , satellites links, etc

         can  be  used  as  transmission medium.
